Set in the indeterminate future on a huge megalopolis built on the great Pacific garbage patch, New Junk City is a cyberpunk comedy about a deeply stupid future, and the people trying to get by in it. New Junk City is a chaotic place with many layers (literally) packed with refugees, fortune-seekers, and criminals of all stripes.

In fact, you pretty much have to be a criminal to get by in New Junk City--unless you're the rich kind of criminal who can buy legitimacy. Most aren't, so life is a precarious plunge through the line between legal and illegal, and back again, on an almost daily basis. And yet, there's a kind of freedom here you can't get anywhere else, even if it's usually the freedom to get shanked in an alley.

Technological marvels are available to people with the right connections, and those willing to brave the black markets, or just grab it for themselves. Fame and fortune could be yours via the net, if you can just wrest enough eyeballs away from the 100,000,000 other pirate channels trying for the same thing. And they even say there might be some sentient robots kicking around from before the Unpleasantness...don't worry, I'm sure they don't hold a grudge against their human enslavers.
